While the drive from our home to the Los Gatos farmer's market was only 10 minutes, it was up in the hills, which made it a bit more challenging to sell. Michael has extensive experience with homes in the mountains, which was very valuable to us in marketing and selling our homes. His team did a great job with recommendations for prepping the house for sale, including an excellent painter and stager. They prepared outstanding marketing materials including a breath-taking video tour, 3D Matterport scanning, and professional photography that showed off our home at its best. Rick Ardizzone and Steve Gordon were also very helpful in getting our house in tip-top shape for going on the market. Jennifer White was great at coordinating dates and paperwork including sending us email reminders. Once offers came in, Michael walked us through the contracts, and his considerable knowledge of California real estate law and contracts helped us understand the offers and make good decisions during the process of closing the sale. We were fortunate to get a backup offer because our first contract fell through due to a contingency on the closing of the sale of the buyer's home, which did not happen. A top-notch real estate team may not be as important when everything goes smoothly, but our sale did not, and we were very glad that we chose Michael Nevis and his team to represent us. In one bid, we missed 0.01% in the margin for another buyer. Eventually, we realized that the agent needs to have local knowledge and a strong network in the region.
